It is Renee and her wonderful San Diego ESRA volunteers. We are Still Rockin' for Rescue and struting our stuff - raising funds for our beloved homeless English Springer Spaniels that make their way into the loving arms of the kind and hard working English Springer Rescue America, Inc. volunteers. Thank you for visiting the Team Page for San Diego ESRA's Strut Your Mutt fundraising page. Thank you for supporting our efforts in San Diego County (what an AWESOME group of volunteers), together with our nationwide volunteers as we, English Springer Rescue America, Inc., continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome our beloved English Springer Spaniels. A special thanks to those families that have adopted our wonderful ESRA Springers. The monies donated to our Renee Holmes and the San Diego ESRA Team's Strut Your Mutt campaign will go directly to help English Springer Rescue America, Inc.'s rescue program.
As you know, we help all ages of Springers, from the puppies to the seniors. I, together with my San Diego ESRA Team, continue to have a fondnesss for the Seniors that fall into our laps such as sweet frosty face Katie (pictured here with her new Mom, Caroline). Katie came from a very loving home, she had a lifetime of the best love and care by her original owners but, unfortunately, her owner was also elderly (Katie is a spry age 11) and had a terrible fall that put him into a rehabilitative facility and he was no longer able to keep Katie with him. This was very heartbreaking for him. His family contacted me and we swung into action - we help people and dogs. It is about helping people too. We were able to add joy into Caroline's life as she now has a perfect companion and new family member, Katie hit the jackpot landing her paws into her new home, and we brought peace of mind to the original owner.
All dogs that come to ESRA require at least routine veterinary examinations, and most need to be brought up-to-date with shots and vaccinations. Many dogs have not been spayed or neutered before intake, so this procedure must be performed before ESRA is able to release the dog to its new owner. Expenses like these are incurred for every dog we foster, and the $350 adoption fee usually does not begin to cover ESRA's expenditures for the dog. With approximately four hundred dogs in the National ESRA program at any one time, caring appropriately for each and every one of them requires an enormous amount of money.
Strut Your Mutt is not your average dog walk. Hosted by Best Friends Animal Society, it’s a huge festival with dog friendly events that raise money for a cause — saving the lives of animals in shelters across America and those in various rescue groups. Best Friends is kind enough to allow the various rescue groups such as ENGLISH SPRINGER RESCUE AMERICA, INC. to use the Strut your Mutt campaign as a fundraising tool. Thank you Best Friends!
This charity walk is a lot of fun. I am participating not only to raise funds for English Springer Rescue America, Inc. but also to draw attention to and help make a change: every day, more than 9,000 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one could have been someone’s furry buddy, important family member, if given a chance. That’s why I’m joining thousands of fellow supporters in 14 festival cities and online to take part in this incredible fundraising event.
I need your help to reach my goal. Can I count on your donation for this sponsored walk? It’s tax-deductible for you.
Together, we can Save Them All.
With much gratitude,
Renee Holmes and the
San Diego ESRA Team
We really do ROCK FOR RESCUE!!!
