Thank you for visiting my Strut Your Mutt fundraising page. This year I am beginning my own personal journey of healthy living as I was recently diagnosed with Noalcoholic Fatty Liver Steatohepatitis (NASH). This basically means that my liver is considered fatty and inflamed and if left untreated and managed I could develop cirrosis, liver failure, and possibly even liver cancer in the future. With a diet and lifestyle change there is a good chance I will be able to live till 100.
In life everything is symbolized by our decisions to have a better future. What school we go to, what career we choose, where we want to live, who we want to marry and what all of these things have in common is that the control is in our hands. So with this one mile walk I plan to not only to help raise money for my rescue, but I want to reach the finish line to help begin and finish my journey to reach the finish line to recover from NASH.
This will be my fifth year participating in Strut Your Mutt and my mission remains the same, which is to help rescue and find homes for dogs who are at risk to be euthanzied at the shelter and to help be their VOICE. With every dollar we raise we are helping Adopt Me Rescue increase the chances of saving and supporting a dog that we have or will rescue. With each step I am not only helping my current and future fosters, but I am also helping myself get well and that is a control in my life that I am happy to be apart of.
