A 6 year old boy, with his family surrounding him, had to put down their elderly dog. Everyone was sad, with tears welling up, but the boy seemed composed. Suddenly, he explained, ‘People have to learn how to be good and be nice, but dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to live as long’.
Those who know me, also knew my Roxie, and how I adored her. She brought me far more joy and laughter and comfort than I reciprocated. When she finally crossed the rainbow bridge, I volunteered with COASTAL GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE, to pay it forward in her honor.
Strut Your Mutt is our largest fundraiser of the year. Nearly 5,000 dogs are euthanized daily because they can’t find a home. The stories of dogs left by the road, chained with no food or water, dumped, deserted, diseased, are just heartbreaking.
COASTAL GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE is extraordinary, as they provide rescue as a last hope; they save those destined to not see tomorrow. When shelters cannot place a dog, or when the medical bills or care needed are too great, COASTAL saves those hardest cases. These dedicated volunteers turn sad stories into joyous ones.
Please Donate $5 or $50. It’s for a good cause.
There is nothing like the devotion, warm licks and wagging tails, of a special friend. THANK YOU, Judy
