Welcome to our BLACK DOG WALK Team page. Once again we’re raising money to end the killing of pets in our local Utah shelters. And we plan on having a lot of fun doing it! Please come Strut with us!
This is our second year participating in Strut Your Mutt. Last year we had a wonderful time, and we made many new friends who chose to join our team. We exceeded our fundraising goal, which allowed us to help many more precious pets. We learned a lot from that first effort, and plan to step it up even more this year!
Just a bit of history ... Black Dog Walk began in September of 2009, walking together to raise awareness about Black Dog Syndrome. They walked dogs from the Ogden City Shelter in downtown Ogden every Saturday afternoon, all year round. It was a very successful way to give the dogs exercise, raise awareness about homeless shelter animals, and most important, find loving homes for the dogs.
As the pack has grown, our scope has expanded. FIRST - We love black dogs ... but we also love brown, white, grey, ... whatever! AND we also do cats. We now have a few foster homes that take in shelter animals requiring special care. We fund vet care and grooming that our local shelter cannot provide. We take shelter pets to local adoption events and provide publicity on social media. We do just about anything we can to help shelter "underdogs" and "undercats" be seen for the truly amazing and beautiful individuals they are so they can find the loving homes they deserve.
As you can imagine, all of that isn't free! We are still a small group of dedicated volunteers, with no paid staff and very low overhead costs. We depend completely on donations from our generous friends. We would love to have you join us, either by registering for our team or donating to one of our team members. Your donation is tax deductible and Black Dog Walk keeps 100 percent of the money that’s raised after transaction fees. And the best part? That money will help save the lives of homeless pets right here in Northern Utah!
Together, we can Save Them All.
Thank you for your support!
