It's hard to believe that we will be doing this year's SYM without Neo. After 4 wonderful years, we had to say goodbye last fall. After losing our young lab in 2014, we had the opportunity to adopt Neo, which began our journey in adopting senior dogs. Neo's first family adopted him from PAWS when he was one but, the year Neo turned 12, his family discovered they had to return to Australia. They were heartbroken to realize that the long flight, quarantine, and his old age meant Neo couldn’t go with them; he was a beloved family member but, for his own good, he suddenly needed a new family. The first time I met Neo he curled up beside me, put his head in my lap, and just won my heart. Over the last 4 years, we've adopted 5 senior dogs and given them a chance to be spoiled rotten for as long as we could. Senior dogs—especially large, black pups—often have difficulties finding homes once they’re at the shelter. Amazing rescues like PAWS give dogs like Neo the best chance to live out their days being spoiled and loved. Please donate so PAWS can continue saving lives!
Thank you for visiting my Strut Your Mutt fundraising page.
Strut Your Mutt isn’t your average dog walk. Hosted by Best Friends Animal Society, it’s a huge festival with dog friendly events that raises money for a cause — saving the lives of animals in shelters across America.
This charity walk is a lot of fun, but here’s really why I’m participating. Every day, more than 9,000 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one could have been someone’s furry buddy, if given a chance. That’s why I’m joining thousands of fellow supporters in 14 festival cities and online to take part in this incredible fundraising event.
I need your help to reach my goal. Can I count on your donation for this sponsored walk? It’s tax-deductible for you, and the great thing is each participating animal welfare organization keeps all the money it raises (after transaction fees).
Together, we can Save Them All.
