Strut your Mutt with Charlie!
This year, we Strut for Charlie. Charlie may not be able to walk more than a few steps these days, but we hold onto his harness and walk with him. When he can no longer walk, we will walk for him. Will you consider making a donation to walk with Charlie today?
It is the year anniversary of welcoming Charlie into our rescue, family and hearts. A year ago, Charlie was struggling to get up and walk, he was crying out in pain, and we embraced him in what seemed to be his final days. YOU embraced him and supported him, and he was victorious. It’s incredible that one year later, Charlie is still with us. It feels like Charlie has lived a lifetime of ups and downs with us this last year. We have shared Charlie with all of you, and you have become his family.
Charlie has spent more time in the emergency hospital than we like to admit. He has fought countless ailments that would be exhausting to list, and he has hurdled over them with a stubborn and incredible will to live.
Charlie currently needs intensive and regular medical care. He is beginning a therapy program as his mobility has become so poor that he can no longer get up on his own or walk very far without assistance. But, his spirit is still incredibly strong and he loves life, so we are trying to help his mobility as best we can with laser therapy, supplements, medication and exercise. It’s an exhausted regiment and some days we feel like we fail, but every day, Charlie gets up, so we push through with him. We are committed, but we need your help. Please make a donation to Charlie’s campaign to help with his continued, extensive medical bills.
This year, we honor Charlie as we join Strut Your Mutt. We also remember Katie and Sammy, our previous hospice fosters who are now our beautiful angels. We encourage you to love a senior. We encourage you to consider fostering. We encourage you to donate to Charlie’s campaign to assist with his ongoing medical care. We ask for you to continue sending Charlie your love and positive energy – because one year later, it is still working!
When Charlie’s family abandoned him without a look back, he gained a community of supporters who quickly fell in love and become his family. Charlie is a happy, silly boy who loves life so much that he refuses to give up.
Charlie can no longer strut with ease, but this stubborn, adorable old man can plow through hurdles like no other! Join us as we Strut for Charlie this year!
