If you're reading this, there's a good chance you already know me and know that I'm a crazy dog lady - crazy boxer lady to be more specific, but I love all dogs. I have been a boxer owner/lover since the mid-90's and currently have 2 wiggle butts that bring me joy every day (RIP Cooper, we miss you!).
I have been a volunteer for NorCal Boxer Rescue since the summer of 2012. NCBR is an amazing organization that strives to "Leave No Boxer Behind" - saving difficult and often costly medical cases and seniors that other rescues pass on, as well as the "normal" boxers that just need a little TLC to get them ready for their fure-ever homes. The volunteers and staff are incredibly dedicated and resilient in the face of challenges and the occasional heartache when one of our dogs crosses the rainbow bridge. I couldn't be more proud of this organization and all it accomplishes on a daily basis to save as many boxers as possible.
All of this rescue work comes at a cost. NCBR easily spends nearly $200,000 a year in medical care to make sure that each dog we rescue has the best chance at his/her new life. NCBR is entirely volunteer run, has no facilities, and has very little administrative costs. This means that almost all money raised goes directly to the care of the rescued dogs. Strut Your Mutt is NCBR's pinnacle fundraising effort for the year to help cover those expenses.
If you are fortunate enough to be able to spare $15 or even $25 to give to this worthy cause, I guarantee that your donation will be put to very good use saving lives. NCBR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit so your donation is tax deductible.
I will forever be grateful to NCBR for bringing Oliver into my life and trusting me to give him the best life possible. Please help me make that same opportunity available to other dogs and their future families by making a donation to NCBR.
