Please ask your state legislators to co-sponsor animal friendly bills
Our legislature recently went back into session and a number of bills have been introduced that will directly save the lives of animals throughout the state. The problem is that nearly 6,000 other bills also have been introduced and only a tiny fraction of them will ever make it to the governor’s desk.
Luckily, there is a simple and straightforward way to increase the likelihood of getting these bills signed into law! The more co-sponsors a bill has, the better the chances are of it moving through the process. Co-sponsorship is a sign of support, so building up this list is vitally important. Here’s how you can help.
Please take action by contacting your state representative and senator to urge them to co-sponsor the following bills.
SD 429 and HD 1562 (would end breed discrimination in insurance)
Would end breed discrimination in the insurance markets for renters and homeowners, which affects Labrador retrievers, Rottweilers, German shepherds, huskies, pit-bull-terrier-like dogs and many others
SD 949 and HD 2206 (also known as PAWS II)
Comprehensive animal protection bills mirroring recommendations of the state animal cruelty task force
One part of the bill removes from state law a provision mandating that all fight bust dogs must be killed (Massachusetts is one of 10 states with a law like this)
SD 1636 and HD 1502 (also known as the Puppies and Kittens Act)
Would prevent the sale of dogs or cats less than eight weeks of age, provide a remedy for the sale of sick dogs and cats, and ensure that puppies and kittens sent to pet shops come from licensed breeders who have not been cited for serious violations of the Animal Welfare Act
Politics is not a spectator sport, so please act today. Share this message on Facebook, Twitter and your other social media platforms to help increase our impact.
Thank you for your continued support to Save Them All.
