Best Friends Legislative Alert

Ask Gov. Christie to sign S 1640.

Great news! Senate Bill 1640, a thoughtful piece of legislation that will protect dogs and cats in our state from exposure to extreme weather conditions, has made it through both chambers of the state legislature. All that is left now is Governor Christie’s signature.

S 1640 also recognizes the need for successful trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) programs for the community cats that are prevalent in the state.

Time is running out, and opponents of community cat programs are calling for the governor to veto this important legislation and supporting their position by spreading misinformation about community cats and TNVR programs. Needless to say, your voice is needed today.

Politics is not a spectator sport, so please take action today by sending an email directly to Governor Chris Christie, asking him to sign S 1640 into law. Phone calls are also effective. You can use our online tool to find the governor’s phone number.

Thanks! Together, we will Save Them All.
