Urge support of A 8684 to protect pets in evictions.

Great news! A lifesaving bill is making its way through the New York legislature. Assembly Bill 8684 would require officers to check properties for the presence of a pet prior to executing a warrant for eviction or dispossession of property, and to ensure that the pet either remains with its owner or is safely removed and placed with an appropriate shelter. This will lead to fewer pets being abandoned (as recently happened in Brooklyn) and more families staying together.

A 8684 has received broad, bipartisan support thus far, but your representatives need to hear from you to ensure that this important piece of legislation is prioritized and supported. Take action today by urging your representatives to support this common-sense legislation. And don’t stop there! Share this message with your New York friends and family on Facebook, Twitter and your other social media platforms to amplify your impact.

Thank you for speaking up on behalf of New York’s pets and the people who love them. Together, we will Save Them All.

Dear [Decision Maker],

As a constituent, I urge you to support Assembly Bill 8684, which would require require officers to check properties for the presence of a pet prior to executing a warrant for eviction or dispossession of property, and ensure that the pet either remains with its owner or is safely removed and placed with an appropriate shelter. This will lead to fewer pets being abandoned (as recently happened in Brooklyn) and more families staying together.

Please vote yes on A 8684 when it comes up for a vote. Thank you.

Sincerely,
