Your voice is helping to save community cats.
You did it! After years of work, Governor Carney recently signed into law House Bill 235, which protects community cats and the people who care for them. Among other things, the new law ensures that unowned cats are protected under Delaware’s animal cruelty law and also clarifies that shelter-based return-to-field is legal. This is a huge win for community cats, and none of it would have been possible without your advocacy efforts.
Let’s let the governor know that we appreciate his ongoing support of animals and that we’re especially thankful for his enthusiastic support for HB 235.

Dear [Decision Maker],
I want to thank you for your continued support of animals in our state and most especially for your recent signature on HB 235. This new law will save the lives of countless unowned free-roaming cats, while also giving our state's animal shelters the needed flexibility to increase adoptions and decrease needless euthanasia.
