Pet Resource Center in Northwest Arkansas
Northwest Arkansas is special. It's a place of imagination, innovation, and modern progress, earning recognition as one of the best places to live in America.
But not if you're a dog or a cat. With few lifesaving programs for cats and limited affordable pet wellness services for families, Northwest Arkansas struggles to meet the needs of pets and people in our community.
Together, we can change that. With your help, we can give the region's pets the second chances they deserve at the Best Friends Pet Resource Center in Northwest Arkansas.
Join us for the next big thing in Northwest Arkansas
The pet resource center has roots in the vision and determination of local animal advocates, civic leaders, and passionate people who want change for pets and people in our community. Like you, we believe a region as forward-thinking as Northwest Arkansas should have an equally forward-thinking facility for pets.
Our shared opportunity in Northwest Arkansas is as special as the region itself. The pet resource center we will build together will keep pets and families united, while providing homeless dogs and cats with a second chance. This innovative space will be a model for the nation and create a new breed of shelter operation that transforms how communities care for their pets. But we can't do this without you.
The pet resource center, where compassion meets innovation
With you at our side, Best Friends Animal Society is proposing a bold project to help pets and people in Northwest Arkansas. At the heart of the project is the construction of a 20,000 square foot pet resource center in Bentonville's 8th Street corridor. The space is being designed from scratch with the following functions in mind:
- Pet adoption
- Enrichment and behavioral programs
- Community cat program
- Medical clinic
- Kitten care center
- Pet transport hub
- Volunteer and foster programs
- Coalition headquarters and training site
- Community engagement
- Social services collaboration
By partnering with local animal shelters and rescue groups, the pet resource center will bring together people and pets from across Northwest Arkansas. This innovative space will serve our community today, while shaping the future of animal sheltering nationwide. Just another point of pride for the region.
About Best Friends Animal Society
Best Friends Animal Society is an animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters by 2025. As the leader of the no-kill movement, our lifesaving programs and partnerships have helped reduce the number of animals killed in shelters nationwide from an estimated 17 million per year to about 625,000.
Locally, we formed the Northwest Arkansas Partnership for Animal Welfare. We're working collaboratively with the region's animal shelters and rescue groups to save more lives through adoption. We believe that together, we can Save Them All.
