Just when you thought our begging days were over (lol), we want to share with you an event that we will be part of exactly one month from today on September 21.
Strut Your Mutt, hosted by Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, is a walk that benefits network shelters, rescue groups and animal welfare groups in the United States. One network rescue is RSQ DOGS+ where Ralph and I volunteer with the animals.
As many of you already know, it was Best Friends Animal Society that brought Ralph and I out here 13 years ago. MHS is somewhat to 'blame' - Best Friends' co-founder, Michael Mountain, was a speaker at one of MHS' Animal Welfare Conferences. Needless to say, we are so excited to be involved with such wonderful animal welfare organizations over the years; 27 years MHS, 13 years, Best Friends, and for the past 6 months, Ralph and I have been very involved with a wonderful local animal rescue in St. George - RSQ Dogs+. We are very excited about this new adventure and one of the events we had always wanted to be part of.
Please support us by making a donation to my page. RSQ Dogs+ is an amazing, all-volunteer rescue that reaches out to the rural areas of Utah and Northern Arizona. In our 6 months, we have seen many animals brought in or picked up by the RSQ team in Hildale, UT, and surrounding areas that were literally next to death - and with the care and perseverence of the RSQ team, they were brought back to a healthy life and adopted out to loving homes. Our little Sammy kitty is one of those angels that they brought back. Ralph and I also volunteer with Best Friends on their 'snip trips' where this past week, Best Friends accomplished 19 dogs and cats being transported to their clinic in Kanab for spay/neuter and vaccinations from the Hildale/Colorado City area. The cat pictured on my page is Bernie. Bernie was picked up by RSQ and was severely burned - we didn't know if he would even make it. With lots of love and a terrific foster home, Bernie made a remarkable change and was adopted into a loving home last month.
This cause means so much to Ralph and I and we are grateful for your help. Every day, more than 2,200 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters, simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one is a loving pet just like yours and mine.
Thank you for considering donating to our team - we sincerely appreciate it, as always. I have always loved the saying "Be the Change You Wish to See in the World" - the animals need us!
