In Memory of Rusty MacFarlane

The ultimate animal lover, Rusty never turned a needy animal away. He always made room for a stray cat, dog, or even goat. His kindness to the animals was unmatched. When Rusty first visited Best Friends Animal Sanctuary he knew it was his kind of place. Rusty would want us all to help Best Friends and be honored that it be done in his name.

Founded in 1984, Best Friends is a pioneer in the no-kill movement and has helped reduce the number of animals killed in shelters nationwide from an estimated 17 million per year to around 733,000. That means there are still about 2,000 dogs and cats killed every day in shelters, just because they don’t have safe places to call home. Best Friends is determined to bring the country to no-kill by the year 2025.

When you donate to this fundraiser, you'll be helping around 1,600 dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, horses, and other barnyard animals who, on any given day, reside at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Plus, you'll be helping to save the lives of homeless pets all across the country through lifesaving adoption and spay/neuter programs, no-kill initiatives, and more.

Thank you for donating to help save animals' lives. Thank you for honoring Rusty.
