Emily was our beloved daughter, friend, sister, colleague, cousin, and teacher. Born on July 8, 1962, she left us too soon, dying on June 19, 2022 from sepsis due to COVID-19 and metastatic endometrial cancer. Everyone who knew Emily, knew that she never did anything halfway! Bright and academically talented, she earned two doctorates and three masters’ degrees. Passionate about music, Em played many instruments, including the bassoon. An animal lover, Em took in and cared for stray cats and adopted a special needs dog. Sensitive and kind, Emily literally put her money where her mouth was, living a vegan lifestyle and volunteering at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary as often as she could. To honor our Emily, we have set up this fundraiser as she was devoted to the no-kill mission of Best Friends Animal Society. We know that she would be very happy and proud to be remembered in this way.
