I’m walking to save the lives of homeless pets!
This year, I’m participating in Strut Your Mutt, a fundraising walk hosted by Best Friends that saves the lives of homeless pets right here in my community and all across the country.
As I look in my dining room (yes, my dining room :)) at the sweet mom and her seven, two-week old puppies, I am once again reminded of how important this mission is. If her circumstances were different, Makena would have been another sad statistic. But thankfully her owners surrendered her and her pups so that she could have another chance. And Lucky Dog Animal Rescue was there to scoop her up. That wouldn't have been possible without the generous donations that have allowed Lucky Dog to save more than 20,000 dogs and cats since 2009. Lucky Dog says "YES" regardless of the circumstances. In some cases that means expensive orthopedic surgery or life saving heartworm treatment. No donation is too small and every bit helps the lives of homeless puppies and kittens. While fostering is fun, the real heroes are our shelter partners in Florence, SC and elsewhere. The volunteers in these areas do not know the word "no," regardless of the personal sacrifices they make on a daily basis. I have been able to see first-hand what a "day in the life" of these rescue angels is like. And it is not for faint of heart. I am in awe of these volunteers and what they do for the animals.
So I am participating again in Strut Your Mutt so that Lucky Dog Animal Rescue can continue its life-saving mission. Please support me by making a donation to my page.
Thank you for your kind support.
