Thank you for visiting our Strut Your Mutt Team page.

We are excited and grateful to be involved in Strutt Your Mutt, the walk to raise funds for animals in need, for the second time this year.

Every dollar we raise goes directly to the care of Metta Rescue Family dogs.  It funds emergency care, veterinary procedures like Daphne's and Benny's complex orthopedic surgeries and regular veterinary visits and medications, as well as providing vaccines, heartworm & flea/tick prevention along with food and supplies.

Simply put, we cannot save lives without YOUR SUPPORT.

2021 continues to be a difficult year but we have not shied away from the most difficult of cases, saving many dogs like the ones highlighted here.

Hope - this beautiful black mouth cur suffered years of neglect and abuse resulting in severely infected leg wounds and several tumors. After being cared for by our vets for a week Hope is now ready for a foster home where her body can continue to heal before addressing her surgical needs.

Daphne - before joining Metta, this puppy was hit by a car, suffered in pain with no medical care, unable to walk with multiple broken bones in both hind legs and pelvis. Under our care she has undergone several orthopedic surgeries, the final one being a knee surgery just recently. While she has made great progress it is likely that she will need to attend rehab once she receives clearance from her orthopedic vet.

Fiona - after suffering a spinal injury at a young age this sweet dog was left partially paralyzed. Since joining us she has come a long way. With the help of ongoing physical therapy Fiona is gaining strength and mobility. She is currently in boarding where she waits patiently on a foster home.

Benny - this handsome puppy is now recovering from FHO surgery after being thrown from a moving vehicle and sustaining multiple injuries including a severe hip injury in June. With the help of ongoing physical therapy he is making huge strides in gaining full strength and function in his injured leg.

These dogs, like all of the dogs who have been brought into our family, are now receiving the best of care and love.

With your support we will be able to continue to make a difference in the lives of many dogs by giving them the medical attention they urgently need and finding them loving and responsible forever homes. We will also be able to expand other community services we provide such as the re-homing assistance program, helping dogs find new homes and avoiding their surrender to local shelters.

Healing the broken and giving them a fresh start is what motivates us to save as many dogs as possible every day.
