Thank you for visiting my Strut Your Mutt fundraising page! My name is Tito, and I will be strutting this year with my Mom and my friends at Animal Lighthouse Rescue, who helped save my life!
I was rescued by El Faro de los Animales, a no-kill sanctuary located on the eastern side of Puerto Rico. My history is unknown, but it is believed that I was used for breeding and then kicked to the streets once it was determined that I wasn't a purebred Miniature Pinscher (I consider myself to be part Min Pin and part sausage). Luckily for me, I was found by El Faro, who cleaned me up and connected me with Animal Lighthouse Rescue. Then, I flew up to the Big Apple to be adopted by my Mom, who had been waiting her whole life to adopt a little rascal like me!
Since I moved in with my Mom, I've been learning a lot about what life is like for dogs in shelters who aren't as lucky as I was. Every day, nearly 5,500 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters, simply because they don't have safe places to call home. In Puerto Rico, there are an estimated 250,000+ dogs living on the streets, and Puerto Rico's euthanasia rates are around 95% (vs 15% in NYC). Unfortunately, because of the excess of dogs everywhere, there are almost no adoptions.
So, that's where you and I come in. Together, we can Save Them All and reduce that number to zero. Please make a donation today and help save the lives of homeless pets. Your donation is tax-deductible. And what’s great is that each participating animal welfare group keeps all the money it raises (after transaction fees), so my friends at Animal Lighthouse Rescue can keep saving little sausages like me.
Thank you for making a lifesaving gift to the animals and for helping to Save Them All.
I hope to see you on October 7th!
