Thank you for visiting our Strut Your Mutt Team page. We’re raising money to help end the killing of pets in America’s shelters. And we plan on having a lot of fun doing it!
Every day, more than 5,500 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters simply because they don't have safe places to call home. That number should be zero. That’s why our team is participating in Best Friends Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt event to raise money for animals. But we need your help, too. We are participating in the Virtual Strut Your Mutt Day, October 28 by computer as our cats are too lazy to strut and prefer to lay around on the sofa.
Heart and Hand Society is a cageless no-kill cat shelter and sanctuary in New York for stray homeless cats, abused cats, senior cats, cats that have chronic medical conditions, and cats that are shy or less friendly. Cats like Sheena, a senior cat that we found in a shed in the coldest part of winter with one eye missing and her long fur matted, and Chip, a diabetic cat that was thrown out with very high glucose level. Since 1981 we've been providing lots of love and top quality medical care to all the cats who come through our doors. We will continue to take care of all the cats until that special person or family comes along to adopt them. In the meantime, they are given loads of love and attention.
We also helped found "Pets on Death Row" on Facebook to advertise the cats at the NYC shelter, NYCACC, that are put by the NYCACC on the nightly euthanasia list, and other cats at the shelter in need of urgent rescue, saving thousands of lives. We ourselves pulled many hundreds of cats from death and found homes.
Please join us either by registering for our team or donating to one of our team members. Your donation is tax deductible and Heart and Hand Society keeps 100 percent of the money that’s raised after transaction fees. And the best part? That money will help save the lives of homeless pets.
Together, we can Save Them All.
Thank you for your support!
