Strut Your Mutt is almost over- just a few more days!

Every day dogs and cats are killed in shelters and they need all of us- everyone- to help them get out alive and find rescues and a home to call their own.

At Shadow Cats we help cats in many ways. We work to keep cats from ever entering the shelter system in the first place through our TNR work. We assist cats beyond Shadow Cats direct scope of care through the One Life Fund by pledging on cats in high kill shelters which then enables the rescues that pull them absorb some of the cost of veterinary care.  Ill or injured community cats are also assisted and impacted.  We disburse small grants for spay and neuter through TNR with other rescues and good Sams.

The Emergency Fund  for Community Cats assists ill and injured cats within Shadow Cats own trapping efforts.  Some of the critically injured cats that have come through Shadow Cats have gone on to live full, well loved lives largely due to the Emergency Fund.

Shadow Cats Sanctuary is home to 90 special needs cats. The cats often have severe medical issues that  require them to remain at the Sanctuary where they receive the best care we can give them.  Surrounded by volunteers and all who care for them, the cats- often those with crippling conditions, paralysis and other issues find safe haven for life.  In addition, Shadow Cats provides a safe and loving environment for cats in hospice care.

So  that bring us to now- getting ready to strut with the big dogs again this year. While we love them all, sometimes we feel a little outnumbered in this dog centered event. But hey, that's ok. We know the kitties bring home the cream:)
