Rescue Haven Foundation

Since beginning our foster program in 2013, Rescue Haven Foundation (formerly known as The FernDog Rescue Foundation) has gratefully participated in Best Friend Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt annual event. Beginning in 2010 as an event in only two cities, Best Friends’ Strut Your Mutt has grown to be an amazing annual opportunity across the country, taking place in multiple cities, where Best Friends, BFAS Network Partners (such as us!) and other individuals and groups come together to raise awareness for the plight of homeless pets in this country. Best Friends estimates that more than 2,000 dogs and cats are killed EVERY DAY in shelters across this country; ranging from young healthy pets due to a simple lack of space to house them, to pets experiencing medical issues and a lack of funds to treat them. Although we attempt to help all dogs in need, Rescue Haven has earned a reputation for taking on extremely challenging cases, both behaviorally and medically, and we often help the dogs that many rescues overlook; the dogs that would have no other chance at life. We are a haven amongst rescues, truly earning our name, saving dogs that would almost certainly become a tragic statistic. At Rescue Haven Foundation we believe that EVERY dog should have a chance to be a beloved family member living a life they deserve, one that is filled with the same unconditional love they give. So when RHF rescues a dog we make a promise…and no matter how long or how much it takes…our team works together to fulfill that promise! That does come at a cost however, and our difficult cases often accumulate high medical costs that continually deplete our medical fund. Since Rescue Haven Foundation is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization which relies 100% on donations, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Bottom line is….WE NEED YOU!!!! Whether you help us by joining our team and registering to walk with us, fundraising on our behalf, sharing our team page, or donating to our team or an individual on our team, YOU will be part of Team Rescue Haven helping to save at-risk dogs in need of the life they deserve. Best part of all is that, as a Best Friends Network Partner, all donations made to Team Rescue Haven or any of our walkers (including registration fees!) will go directly to the RHF Medical Fund (less a small percentage for administrative costs and transaction fees incurred by Best Friends)! This event has been our biggest fundraiser for the last six years and has played a major role in helping us continue to save deserving dogs. Would you PLEASE consider making a tax deductible donation to help us continue our mission? No amount is too small and every donation helps us to help them!!
