Dearest friends, family, and strangers alike,
There comes a time in everyone's lives where they realize their place. The place within your circle of friends, taking care of your family, or climbing the ladder in your work. I found my place the day I became Cooper's mom.
Truly, there is nothing like the love of a pet, especially a dog. Each day I come home from work to find Cooper, anxiously waiting to hear my key in the lock and barreling down the steps to greet me. I am his world. Knowing that every time I look into his eyes, I'm all he sees (and maybe a treat too, because c'mon, who can resist a biscuit?), is truly the thing that keeps me going the most in this world.
Now think about the thousands of dogs, cats, and other friends (furry or not), that don't get the chance like Cooper to have a forever person, how right, fair or just is that? Even worse, they may not even get the chance at a forever home if they end up at a shelter that simply does not have enough room to house and adopt them out. These animals, who often were once beloved pets, find themselves forever alone in a shelter, or even worse, face euthanasia.
This is why I strut. I want each and every pet in the world to have their person. To know every single night they go to sleep that they are in a warm, cozy, bed and will always wake up to their family and a full belly. I want all pets to have a home, I want to know that each and every one of them have a chance to live their fullest lives loved and cared for, and most of all I want them each to have their forever family.
Participating in Strut You Mutt is literally lifesaving. We raise money to ensure that every pet for now and into the foreseeable future gets that chance, no matter how long it takes.
Will you join Cooper and I in this journey? We sure hope you do and just maybe, you'll be able to find your place in the universe alongside us.
Much love, slobbery kisses, and dog-hair covered hugs -
Cooper & Katy
