Our home has welcomed pups from 4 lbs to 65 lbs, from 9 months old to 13+ years old. Our fosters have had us standing by their side while they recover from years of poor breeding to being by their side while they pass away from years of neglect and abuse. The tears, the pain, the heartache, the sleepless nights, the early mornings, the accidents, the hundreds of dollars spent out of our own pockets… I must be a masochist to continue doing this but I just can’t stop. Seeing the light in their eyes for the first time in who knows how long, seeing them play in the yard with the other dogs, seeing them wag their tails when we get home, seeing them sleep like a rock snuggled up on the couch, seeing them happy… these are all the reasons I keep doing it.
CAWS is a 100% volunteer based organization and without donations, we can’t continue saving the lives of those most in need. Our shelters are bursting at the seams for the first time in years begging us to help with medical and behavioral cases, shelters from surrounding states are euthanizing at astonishing rates due to overpopulation, and we can only continue helping with donations from you! Every year I am overwhelmed by the generosity of my friends and family and thank all of you for all your support in my journey to help all of those most in need. Every dollar counts so please share, donate, or join the team and start your own fundraising goal!
Another year, another SYM, and many more lives to be saved!
