Every year I strut for my mutts! I strut to get dogs out of terrible situations and to a safe place. This year I am strutting for Save-An-Angel. SAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats from at-risk situations in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. They are relocated to no-kill shelters and rescue organizations throughout the United States. Founded in October 2009 by the parents of an American Dingo named Angel, the organization began as a successful fundraising campaign to provide an expensive, life-saving bone marrow transplant for Angel, who was diagnosed with Canine Lymphoma.
Save-An-Angel has since expanded its original mission and is now primarily dedicated to rehoming shelter pets through our Operation Relocation program, a nationwide network of shelters and rescue partners, working together to give homeless dogs and cats a renewed chance at life.
Since starting to foster with them about six weeks ago, I have fostered three puppies surrendered from a rural hoarding situation. After being fostered for two weeks, the pups went on our transport to Pennsylvania. There a sister rescue group took them into foster care and found great homes for them.
I am currently fostering a mom and her three puppies (four weeks old) who were also surrendered into rescue from a home overwhelmed with dogs and puppies. Working in this model, I will be able to save many more dogs and have a greater impact on the rural areas around Austin. Please give what you can afford to help me get these pups to great homes.
Together, we can Save Them All!
