I’m walking in memory of my best friend Willie, who I had to say goodbye to earlier this year and would have celebrated his 14th birthday in September--which is why my fundraising goal is $1,400.
I'm walking with and raising money for Canine Humane Network, a fantastic, volunteer-driven rescue group in Maryland that saves dogs and puppies from shelters primarily in the South--where so many awesome pets are dying in huge numbers simply because they don't have safe places to call home.
Willie was rescued from the South (Arkansas) so I have tremendous love and respect for all of the rescue groups and shelters out there who are devoting so much time, energy and commitment to saving the lives of dogs and cats who would otherwise be killed needlessly.
After I lost Willie, I fostered puppies from Canine Humane Network. This experience not only has helped to alleviate some sadness but it also has opened my eyes to the great work that they are doing every day to help animals. Their volunteer and foster network demonstrates so much compassion and generosity, and CHN needs your help to continue to grow and save more pups.
Money raised will help to cover Canine Humane Network's critical lifesaving costs, including food, medical supplies, microchips, crates and all of the other stuff that goes into caring for puppies and dogs who have just been rescued from overcrowded shelters.
Please support me by making a donation to my page. Your gift means the world to me, but it's even more valued by Canine Humane Network.
Every day, 2,000 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters, simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one is a loving pet who deserves to live a happy life. Canine Humane Network and Best Friends Animal Society are both working to save those pets.
Together, we can Save Them All. xoxo Greta
