In 2014 when Posh Pets took over the municipal shelter in Long Beach, NY, the animals of Long Beach officially took over my heart. In the past 5 years, we have welcomed over 2000 dogs and cats into our humble abode, loving and caring for each as if they are our own. Our staff and volunteers work tirelessly 12 hours a day, 365 days a year to make sure every animal is safe, comfortable and loved. Pit bulls from Long Beach and NYC ACC, survivors of the horrific dog meat trade in Thailand, puppy mill survivors, dogs from the crowded South LA shelter, neonate and semi-feral kittens from Long Island - each and every one has taken a little piece of our hearts and put a little piece back into our hearts when we’ve seen them go on to their forever homes.
This year, I’m raising funds for the “forgotten” ones, our long-term residents who’ve been with us for 1, 2 or even 3 years. Balboa and Adrian who came to us in June 2017, Jessie who came from Thailand in May 2016, Ziggy who dodged the euth list in NYC ACC July 2016. These animals are my heart, and the heart of our shelter. They have watched hundreds come and go, finding forever homes while they sit and wait patiently. Please join me and help support our long-term residents, and let them know that they are not forgotten just because they are “safe.”
Thank you for your kind support.
