I’m walking to save the lives of homeless pets!
This year, I’m participating in Strut Your Mutt, a fundraising walk hosted by Best Friends that saves the lives of homeless pets right here in my community and all across the country.
Over the last six and a half years I have dedicated a significant amount of my time to various animal welfare organizations and rescue efforts. We recently acquired a foster dog and although our family does not typically foster long-term, once in a while a dog comes along who we cannot resist helping. Initially Patrick (aka Paddy) came into our home just to spend a few nights away from the shelter. As circumstance would have it, this sleepover coincided with a terrible distemper outbreak at the shelter, resulting in a quarantine that lasted 28-days and claimed more than 50 lives. The decision to keep Patrick safe under our roof was an obvious one. We knew we were helping an amazing dog, but we also knew we could rely on the support of his incredible sponsors at One Love Pit bull Foundation. Thanks to One Love we have ensured Patrick's good health with no out of pocket cost, and have even shared fostering responsibilities with their training partners, through doggy daycare and cage-free boarding. One Love is not only incredible because of what they have done for our foster, ALL their sponsors receive specialized pre and post-adoption resources, from marketing to microchips and free training. The shelter dog program meets regularly to provide animals with in-kennel and out-of-kennel enrichment. Ongoing community outreach projects provide low-income pet owners with various opportunities to receive free or low-cost services (i.e. vaccinations and spay/neuter). I am proud to be affiliated with this remarkable organization and their work towards ensuring the safety and well-being for all pets in our community.
Please support me by making a donation to my page. Your gift helps homeless pets and will support the animal welfare group I’ve chosen to walk for.
This cause means so much to me and I am grateful for your help. Every day, about 2,000 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters, simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one is a loving pet just like yours and mine.
Together, we can Save Them All and reduce that number to zero. Thank you for your kind support.
