I am walking to save the lives of homeless pets!
About seven years ago we got this beautiful litter of foster puppies. They looked like purebred labs. Some chocolate. Some black. But who knows. The eight week old puppies were all adopted almost immediately. Except one. Octavia. We noticed that she seemed to be having some orthopedic problems. Still, a fantastic family wanted to adopt her anyway. But first we wanted to have her checked out by a specialist. The news was not good. She needed surgery to repair a probem where her front legs were not staying in their sockets. As she got older it would only get worse and she would be unable to walk. So Lucky Dog, with the help of an amazing surgeon at Southpaws, got her the surgery she so desperately needed. Expensive surgery. This video is of Octavia during her recovery. Both legs were in a cast but she powered through. That amazing family still wanted to adopt her and were committed to her recovery. Octavia (Tavi, Tavia) is now living the good life with an incredible, amazing family.
Lucky Dog rescues dogs with special needs all of the time. We even had a dog that was, as we would later find out, pregnant with eleven puppies! Then there are the heartworm positive puppies and those with cancer or other conditions. The vet bills are high so donations are not only important. They are vital.
Please support me by making a donation to my page. Your gift helps homeless pets and will support animal welfare groups across the country.
This cause means so much to me and I am grateful for your help.
Thank you for your kind support.
