As many of you know, I started volunteering for Muddy Paws Rescue last fall when I brought home my first foster puppies. Olive and Maya were the absolute cutest lab/beagle mixes and I knew from that very first day that I was absolutely hooked. From working on pee pad training to teaching the girls how to sit to being rewarded in puppy cuddles, I thought I had the best job in the world. Admittedly, it was incredibly hard for David and I to let them go. We almost (like seriously we were this close) foster failed on Olive but I'm so glad we didn't.
It's now almost a year later, and little did we know how much my love of dogs would have changed our lives. David and I have now fostered 20 dogs with Muddy Paws Rescue! Our fosters have ranged from a mamma with her five puppies to an australian shepherd mix who hid under our dining table for the first 5 days. We love each and every one of them, and have absolutely loved seeing them grow up and thrive in their new homes! Seriously, instagram is the best for update photos :)
I also joined Muddy Paws Rescue's foster team, where along with my amazing teammates, we work every day to achieve MPR's goal of "rescue done right." As a foster-based organization, we rely heavily on our amazing fosters who open up their homes to pups who just want to be showered with love.
And last but not least, Muddy Paws Rescue gave us Nanuk, a now 1.5 year-old mutt who looks like a marshmallow, sleeps like he's a bear hibernating in winter, and runs around the dog park like he just downed a red bull.
This year, Nanuk, David, and I are walking in Best Friend's 2019 Strut Your Mutt to help all the other dogs out there who are still looking for their forever homes. Please join us for the walk or donate to my team!
All donations through this page will go directly to Muddy Paws, so that we can help as many dogs as we can. Thank you so much for your support.
