I’m walking to save the lives of homeless pets!
This year, I’m participating in Strut Your Mutt, a fundraising walk hosted by Best Friends that saves the lives of homeless pets right here in my community and all across the country.
Korean K9 Rescue saved Bella from horrific circumstances in South Korea, and lead her to her forever home in NYC. Every year they save hundreds of dogs from high-kill shelters, puppy mills, and the dog meat trade. Annually, over 1 million dogs are killed and eaten. The dog meat trade is slowly becoming stigmatized in South Korea, but until it is fully banned, Korean K9 Rescue still has more to fight for.
Every day, more than 2,200 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters, simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one is a loving pet just like yours and mine.
Our fight transcends national boundaries as we are also strong proponents of the No Kill Movement here in the U.S. Approximately 2,200 animals are killed everyday and to do our part in lowering the national average, we work closely with local high-kill shelters to rescue breed specific dogs. We have pulled dozens of Jindos and Shiba Inus from high-kill shelters and given them a second chance at life. With your help, we can do so much more!
Your donations to our Strut Your Mutt campaign will help fund the following initiatives:
1. KK9R Animal Hospital: We are opening a hospital in Bundang, Seoul in the upcoming month. Here, we will offer low-cost vet services to rescuers and the public. We will also provide state-of-the-art quarantine services for dogs rescued from hazardous situations so we can nurse them back to health.
2. Stray Management: Many of the dogs we rescue are strays due to Korea’s overpopulation problem. There’s simply too many dogs and not enough homes. To combat this, we are launching a spay/neuter campaign to target the rural and stray population in Korea --- the first of its kind in the country!
3. Transport Van: We are in great need of a reliable van to help with transport to vet appointments, adoption events, and airport pick-ups. Every day we spend an average of 4 hours on transport alone! We want to continue to provide our pups with a safe and comfortable travel experience, which is why we need the help of donors and supporters to fund a new van.
Together, we can Save Them All and reduce that number to zero. Thank you for your kind support.
