When I was little, there was a stray dog who loved to rest in the shade by my house. My father loved dogs and while we couldn't take the pup in, my father would go out every morning and give the stray some of our leftover food. The little pupper was so grateful that he would often spend the night guarding the front of the house, barking if strangers came too close. Then in the mornings when my father came out to feed him, he would run over and wag his tail with pure happiness and delight. My father and that dog had a bond, so much so that the little stray would trot along my father as he went on his runs and followed him everywhere when my father went out to do errands. After a long time the little stray stopped coming to our house and my father was very sad. We never forgot that dog and I still remember the happiness that dog showed when my father gave him just a little bit of kindness.
Like my father, I want to show that kindess to many forgotten animals and so I am participating in the Strut Your Mutt, a fundraising walk for homeless pets hosted by Best Friends to honor the memory of my father who passed away three years ago and the kindness he showed for animals.
Please support me by making a donation to my page. Your gift helps homeless pets and will support Pet Haven, a foster organization for cats and dogs that I am a part of.
This cause means so much to me and I am grateful for your help. Every day, about 2,000 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters, simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one is a loving pet just like yours and mine.
Together, we can Save Them All and reduce that number to zero. Thank you for your kind support.
