2019 DC Metro Strut Your Mutt

Your Dog's Friend, Inc

Every day, hundreds of dogs are surrendered to shelters for behavior reasons. From
housetraining setbacks, to destructive chewing, to reactivity, even a seemingly minor behavior
problem can fracture the human-canine bond, causing owners to give up their dogs to a shelter.
These behavior-related surrenders lead to an increased number of homeless animals in shelters
around the country.

Your Dog’s Friend is part of the solution to end animal homelessness. By providing easily
accessible expert training information to the DC metro area and beyond, Your Dog’s Friend is
helping owners improve their dog’s behavior issues before they become a reason for surrender.
From free workshops presented by certified dog trainers and behaviorists, to information-packed e-newsletters,
to high-quality group training classes, Your Dog’s Friend has become a resource hub for dog
owners.

As Your Dog’s Friend has expanded into its role as the DC area’s go-to source of positive training
information, our mission has stayed the same: keep dogs happily in their homes and out of
shelters. We know the way to do this is to continue providing the community with invaluable
behavior help and resources.

Please help us in our mission to keep dogs out of shelters by joining our team and donating
today!
