2019 Los Angeles Strut Your Mutt

We rescue them. We rehab them. We love them. We let go of them...and then we do it all over again.

Watts Project

We hope you will JOIN our Strut Your Mutt Team, and join the fun, to raise funds that will support our monthly WATTS PET RESOURCE CENTER!

Who are we? Watts Project began as a one-volunteer rescue effort 15 years ago when our rescue founder, Amanda, began helping animals in her hometown of Watts. Over the last 5 years, Watts Project has grown to be a small team of mighty volunteers dedicated to rescuing abused, neglected, and injured animals off the streets, as well as pups of all sizes, ages, and conditions from our local South LA shelter.

Beyond that, we are committed to making a difference in the communities we grew up in, we live in, and we work in. Volunteers work hand in hand with underserved communities to bring awareness to the importance of spay & neuter and responsible pet ownership. Since our inception, we have assisted homeless and low income pet owners by providing food, veterinary care, much needed supplies, and grooming care.

And now, with the WATTS PET RESOURCE CENTER, which opened its "doors" this past January, we finally have a location from which to serve a part of the city of LA, where there is a lack of pet related services and not one animal hospital in the community. Every month, Watts community members who LOVE their pets, but often need help that is unavailable, visit the center. Our purpose is to provide homeless and low income pet owners with supplies such as leashes, collars, pet food, crates, dog houses, and low cost and free medical care that includes spay/neuter surgeries. Our "trademark" So Fresh N' So Clean spa service is a cornerstone at the Watts Pet Resource Center, where we have hired a mobile groomer to provide the comfort and relief that can only come with a good bath and brush, fresh cut or shave down, and nail trim. Pet parents often visit our center, after receiving a notice to comply from animal control. The services they receive not only keep their pets comfortable and healthy, but also keep them from becoming another resident in an already overcrowded shelter system. With that, we are saving lives by keeping dogs in their homes, and out of the shelter.

That’s why our team is participating in this Strut Your Mutt event on October 26 to raise money for the WATTS PET RESOURCE CENTER. But we need your help, too. The word is out and more and more community residents visit us each month. You can help us make a difference in the lives of deserving pets.

Please join us either by REGISTERING for our team or DONATING to the team or one of our team members. Can't attend on OCTOBER 26, but want to help fundraise? You can still JOIN the team and create your own personal fundraising page. All donations are tax deductible and Watts Project keeps 100 percent of the money raised (after transaction fees) for the WATTS PET RESOURCE CENTER. And the added bonus? YOUR donation will help keep dogs out of shelters and save the lives of homeless pets.

Thank you for visiting our WATTS PROJECT Strut Your Mutt Team page, and thank you for your support!
