2020 Strut Your Mutt Day

HART (Homeless Animals Rescue Team)

Thank you for visiting the HART (Homeless Animals Rescue Team) Strut Your Mutt Team page. We’re raising money to help homeless animals and end the cycle of animal suffering. Our mission is to engage in activities that curb overpopulation, impede the feral cat cycle, re-home abandoned cats and kittens, and promote responsible pet ownership. Our approach utilizes spaying and neutering as its primary weapon. We accomplish this goal by implementing feral cat management through the Trap, Neuter & Return program (TNR).

Your donation will help homeless animals receive medical treatment (vet fees, medications - prescriptions, flea and ear mite treatment - surgeries, dentals, testing, etc), food and litter.  HART volunteers feed over 125 feral cats every night, and adoptable kittens and cats go to foster homes where medical expenses, food and litter are provided by HART.  Some of the estimated costs of medical expenses that HART incurs are:

Spay $45 (If a rescue cat (not a feral) is pregnant, it can cost up to $100 for a spay).
Neuter $30
Combo test $40
Rabies vaccine $15
Revolution (if needed) $15
Deworming $5
Some need extra meds and prescriptions costing $60
FVRCP vaccines and syringes $10 (more for kittens that get at least two vaccines)

Every day, nearly 2,200 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters simply because they don't have safe places to call home. That number should be zero. That’s why our team is participating in Best Friends Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt event to raise money for animals. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP TOO!

Please join us either by registering for our team or donating to one of our team members. Your donation is tax deductible and each participating animal welfare organization keeps 100 percent of the money raised after transaction fees. And the best part? That money will help save the lives of homeless pets.

Together, we can Save Them All.

Thank you for your support!

FERAL CATS......
"They live in the shadows—the alleyways, empty lots and condemned buildings—of almost every neighborhood. Their lives are short and usually harsh. They struggle to find food and water in an environment filled with the constant threats of disease, starvation, cruelty and predation. They are the abandoned, the lost and the wild—and they need our help”. Statement from the ASPCA
