Here in Jacksonville, our local animal shelter, Animal Care and Protective Services, is funded by tax dollars. This funding supports thousands of local pets that come through the doors per years. Sometimes, specialty reuqests for additional consultations, bloodwork, enrichment items, and heartworm treatment are not covered by the budget. That's where Friends of Jacksonville Animals is able to step in and support the homeless pets of our community. We've saved over 3,000 dogs lives by providing heartworm treatment and suppotrted many complicated surgeries to make pets whole and adoptable again.
Our most current expenses have been on Bambi, who was found hit by a car with extensive damage to her hind legs. One of our outside vet partners has performed her surgery and she is now with a foster, on her way to healing. She requires daily care and twice weekly vet check ups, but we know our partners will give her the best care and she will find a loving home. This is only possible because of generous donors and supporters like you!
Thank you for your support!
