Texas Husky Rescue (TXHR) is proud and excited to participate in Best Friends Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt event to raise money to help save more Huskies.
Our mission statement is a simple one: to rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas and beyond. In addition to finding permanent homes for rescued Huskies, TXHR considers community education an important component of its mission.
Siberian Huskies, with their wolf-like appearance, have an obvious aesthetic appeal, especially now that Game of Thrones fans want their very own dire wolf. Unfortunately, their high exercise requirements, frequent escape attempts, shedding, proclivity to dig and independent natures result in their frequent surrender and abandonment.
Our initial goal upon founding in 2009 was to rescue 30 Huskies annually from area shelters; we actually rescued 31. Since then, we have saved over 2,100 huskies! We take in huskies from all walks of life: those whose owners simply can no longer care for them, those that have been found themselves on the dreaded euthanasia list at shelters, those with serious medical needs, and those that have been abused or bred to the brink of death. We have placed over 2,000 huskies in wonderful homes and have over 65 huskies in our program waiting for their forever.
However, all of this comes at a great financial cost, which is why we need your help.
Please join us either by registering for our team or donating to one of our team members. Your donation is tax deductible, and TXHR gets to keep 100 percent of the money raised after transaction fees. You may also donate directly through our website so that the funds go directly to us. And the best part? That money will help save the lives of homeless huskies all over Texas and beyond.
Together, we can Save Them All.
Thank you for your support!
