2020 Strut Your Mutt Day

Watts Project

Thank you for visiting our Strut Your Mutt Team page. We’re raising money to help end the killing of pets in America’s shelters. And we plan on having a lot of fun doing it!

Watts Project is a foster based dog rescue organization, dedicated to rescuing abused, neglected, and injured animals from the streets and from the shelters of Watts, South LA, and Compton California. Volunteers work hand in hand with under-served communities to bring awareness of the importance of spay & neuter and responsible pet ownership. We provide homeless and low-income pet owners with food, veterinary care, grooming, and other much needed supplies and pet care. It has always been our firm belief that animal welfare in our community is intimately connected with social justice issues. Caring for the animals in our community is difficult to separate from consideration for the circumstances of the people who live in our community. With education and helping low-income pet owners care and provide for the pets they love, we are dedicated to creating a ripple effect among the citizens of our neighborhoods, too.

Every day, nearly 1,700 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters simply because they don't have safe places to call home. That number should be zero. That’s why our team is participating in Best Friends Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt event to raise money for animals. But we need your help, too.

Please join us either by registering for our team or donating to one of our team members. Your donation is tax deductible and each participating animal welfare organization keeps 100 percent of the money raised after transaction fees. And the best part? That money will help save the lives of homeless pets.

Together, we can Save Them All.

Thank you for your support!
