For those of you that are new around here - this is my tenth year of fundraising for Rescuzilla! They saved Muggsy, my BFF, 8 years ago and their mission is something I fiercely believe in.
For this year’s Strut Your Mutt Day, we’re going entirely virtual. It's been an unprecedented year and 2020 has smacked us all upside the head. But the silver lining of this pandemic is that dogs were being rescued and adopted at an unprecedented level.
One of those lucky pups was Jughead, my very first foster dog. Juggie was emotionally paralyzed at the shelter and when he first came home to me and Muggs. I was told to 'be the chicken lady for a week or so' (IE: just feed him chicken when he got close to me). True to my Ace Ventura roots, less than 24 hours of hand feeding chicken and sleeping on the couch in the same room and we won him over. Little man fell in love with Muggs first and then me, he was glued to our sides thereafter. --> Well, except for that time he escaped the house and we needed 2 bikers, my mom in a car and me chasing him to get him back home ( ). We found him a home with the best family (including another sibling dog) I could have asked for and he's been living it up on Cape Cod for the past 3 months. His new family are absolutely in love, have renamed him Jack, and his foster mama gets to visit whenever she's in town.
I know there are so many causes to support, especially this year but I would be truly grateful if you would consider supporting me and Rescuzilla - any amount is welcome.
