I am fundraising on behalf of NorCal Boxer Rescue with my dearest friend, Bentley. Bentley is my most recent of four foster dogs that I've adopted from NCBR, and he is one of the most beautiful souls I've known. He has a kind, gentle, and generous spirit, and a beautiful smile that makes every day better. His life is difficult in some ways. He can no longer walk and has paresis in all of his legs. But he is a lucky boy, not only because is he loved more than words can say, but because he is doing what he was born to do: be a best friend, a devoted companion, and a source of love and joy to those whose lives he touches.
Bentley almost didn't have a chance to become the dog he was meant to be. Four years ago, his life nearly ended at a high-kill shelter. But NCBR took him in, tended to his rotten teeth, removed masses, put him in physical therapy, and even performed a nose-to-tail MRI to discover the multiple causes of his neurological issues. Bentley and I are supporting NCBR to help more dogs like Bentley achieve the lives they all deserve.
For 8 years, I have witnessed the lengths that NCBR goes to fulfill their role in the no-kill movement. Purebred boxers who need rescue rarely are young, healthy, happy boxers. Those dogs are adopted from shelters. NCBR prioritizes the dogs who truly are the most vulnerable, knowing that those dogs - the old, the ill, the injured, and those needing behavioral intervention - are more costly to care for and are slower to adopt. Bentley and I are happy to support their cause, and hope you will join us! Even the smallest donation makes a life-saving difference for these dogs.
