As the world is changing in so many ways, so is rescue. It has had it's high points during the pandemic in on overwhelming response to adopt. Which has been so great for the animals. In others it has been so different in the fact that due to covid we are unable to walk the kennels , to see those that need more help. The rescue process with the shelters has changed and a new learning curve for all of us. We have had to learn new computer skills to show our dogs off as events have been out of the question.
This won't deter us it just means we get creative. Even with these changes we have been blessed to rescue 196 dogs so far this year. It's only August and we still have dogs to rescue and need funds to help them heal and find forever homes. As most of you know we take alot of medical dogs that otherwise might not make it out of the shelter system.
Sasha is just such a dog, tucked away in medical this poor girl was in the worst possible shape. No one saw her and there was no rescue interest for her. We had no choice but to bring her home and make her misery disappear. It took weeks of baths and vet visits to get her skin and medical issues resolved. She got a new top notch hairdo and good pictures and she found a forever home. It takes, time, love and committment and money to save these dogs. But the reward is great when you see where they come from to a new forever home. Where sometimes their life really just begins.
Right now we just took in Frankie who by the shelters criteria was a 7 yr old male shih tzu with arthritis. Truely we never really know what we are getting when we pull from the shelter until we get them out. Like Sasha his skin was horrific red and crusty and painful. He was not seven but at least ten and he is blind with collaped disc's in his back. His rear legs are compromised due to his back issues. Amazingly he is such a sweet and loveing boy dispite his pain and problems. He is being treated and healing in a expen in my dining room, and you can tell he thinks he hit the jackpot. Can only imagine what kind of life he had before we rescued him. He will be ready soon in hope of an angel who will see through his handicaps and love him forever.
It takes a village to rescue these precious souls. Everytime someone donates you too become a rescuer by helping to provide animals with the necessities they need to become whole. When you donate you save a life. Please join me in saving lives today
Please support me by making a donation to my page. Your gift helps homeless pets and will support the animal welfare group I’ve chosen to walk for.
This cause means so much to me and I am grateful for your help. Every day, about 2,000 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters, simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one is a loving pet just like yours and mine.
Together, we can Save Them All and reduce that number to zero. Thank you for your kind support.
