I’m walking again in Strut Your Mutt to save the lives of homeless pets! This year will be a virtual event.
While nothing has been normal about 2020, one thing that has remained constant is the need to help animals that have been abandoned or surrendered due to no fault of their own. I'm raising money for Lovebugs Rescue again to help us continue to do the volunteer work that I love to do and is so necessary.
Finding wonderful homes for our Lovebugs makes me so happy. When you see the joy a family has with their new pet it's incredible. And seeing how happy an animal becomes when they are loved and cared for is worth all the heartaches in between.
I have been able to help animals that have been abandoned in the desert, animals in dispicable conditions in Mexico and Armenia, animals that were given as puppies that weren't wanted, animals that were taken to a vet to be euthanized...simply because they were old... Every story is heartbreaking. But every outcome is amazing and that only happens because we get great support from others who love their animals and allow us to continue in this mission to save them all.
One of the negative impacts of COVID-19 has been that many of our shelters haven't been accepting animals. Sadly, as a result, some people make horrible choices and just discard their pet hoping it can survive on it's own. You probably can't imagine that, but it happens daily.
Most likely that happend to Annie. She's a great example of how this work pays off in so many ways. She was rescued from the desert. First I had to post and look for the owner of the dog. We put up signs, posted on PawBoost, notified the local shelters, etc.. No one came forward looking for this girl. God put a beautiful white heart on her chest. It just so happened that I was looking for a dog for a family that had survived a heart transplant a couple years earlier. God works in amazing ways.
Or the story of Dusty...now Faith. Her family had her for 10 years and took her to a vet to put her to sleep simply because she's old. Luckily, the vet asked for our help. I have some truly amazing friends who recently lost their last senior they adopted from me and I immediately reached out to them to see if they would help. Though they were still grieving Blondie's loss, without hesitation, they said bring her to us! And she's so happy and full of life... Just took finding love, that's all...
Please support me by making a donation to my page. Your gift helps homeless pets and will support animals like Annie, Dusty, Sugar Ray, Lady, Rocky, Zeke and so many others that Lovebugs Rescue helps everyday.
I hope you can tell this cause means so much to me and I am grateful for your help. Every day, about 2,000 dogs and cats are killed in America's shelters, simply because they don't have safe places to call home. Each one is a loving pet just like yours and mine. Together, we can Save Them All and reduce that number to zero. Thank you for your kind support.
