Rescue City is back and ready to STRUT for the second year in a row! This year, we have a lofty goal of $15,000, but we know we can reach it with help from our community.
Learn how to join our team below and, to say thank you, everyone who raises $250-$500 will receive Rescue City gear!
We are all, humans and animals, being affected by the crisis happening in the world. At Rescue City, we remain committed to ensuring the dogs that we save will be helped with no gap in care. As everything started grinding to a halt in March, we only picked up the pace and stepped up to care for several medical and emergency cases, like German Shepherd Finn who came to us from the local Animal Care & Control, abandoned at 6 Years Old with an auto-immune disease, A litter of puppies left for dead in Livingston, Texas, an 80+ hoarding dog case resue out of Kentucky, where we helped 10 adult dogs - who spent years of their life living covered in feces, outside with no human contact - find incredible new families, and every new dog we've been able to rescue weekly from dire situations. These rescues have required a great deal of resources and funds (and a change of protocols and practices to ensure COVID-19 precautions), but we are determined to be there for every dog that needs our help!
This year has had it's challenges (to say the least!), but our volunteers, fosters, adopters, friends, donors, and family have all stepped up in the most amazing ways. THANK YOU! Despite the hurdles, 2020 has had it's high points as Rescue City celebrated our 5th anniversary, received more foster and adoption applications than ever before, saved more lives in the past 8 months AND began our Texas Rescue Initiative!
Our goal for Strut Your Mutt this year is to raise vital funds to put towards the purchase of a rescue van that will help us save more dogs from out-of-state shelters, provide medical care, and enable us to have a reliable mode of transportation for our dogs at any time.
We are committed to continuing to save the lives of dogs in desperate need, whether that be those experiencing neglect or abuse, suffering from a medical condition, or living at-risk of euthanasia at an overcrowded, “high-kill”, rural shelter.
Help us say “yes” to the dogs that need us the most. Together, we can Save Them All!!
